On Sunday, November 15th, we had the family party for Maya. These were able to celebrate with us: Grandpa and Grandma Sherman, Aunt Linda, Uncle Dave, Cousin Pat, Cousins - Lori, Meghan, Jaime, Katherine, Jacob, Kim, Alex, Uncle Julius, and Aunt Marge. The party theme was teddy bears to go along with the Build-A-Bear theme party planned for school friends tomorrow. I was able to find some cute green bears at the Card Outlet, so our colors were green and pink. I bought a helium tank and we had fun filling our own balloons. Wayne made beef sandwiches and potato salad. For dessert, I made a teddy bear puzzle cake. We all had so much fun - our Maya gives us so much joy.
When Maya opened her gifts, the last one was an Adventure Journal with the Up characters. I had written clues to different animals and picture clues as to where they were hidden in the house. Maya did very well finding them all!
Lee and Janet Will gave Maya some pop pearl beads - so fun! Grandma gave her the beautiful Hannah Anderson "twirl dress" she wore for the party. Cousin Pat gave her "Give A Cat A Cupcake" and a plush cat. She had so many fun gifts - Littlest Pet Shop, a Yorkshire pup and carrier, Crayola Color Collection, Bop It, Memory game, "Up", a Wiggles CD. Cousin Kim kept up the tradition and gave Maya a beautiful dress up outfit and accessories. Even Cousin Terry and Cindy sent a Chicky Boom game! How thoughtful of them! And so many cards, from our thoughtful friends and family - JodyLynn, Uncle Ed and Aunt Carol. Aunt Carol and Uncle Fred in Nevada sent Maya a savings bond and two cards! We are so blessed.
