Wow! I can't believe that it is 2015. It seems like just yesterday we were worrying about Y2K. We had a busy New Year's Eve. First, Maya, Grandma and I went to Macy's (Marshall Field's) for lunch in the Walnut Room. Usually we go for Maya's birthday, but this year she celebrated her birthday at American Girl and our Walnut Room trip was delayed a bit.
Grandma and I both had the Field's Special. This salad/sandwich is a tradition. We have been enjoying it for many, many years. Sometimes we order something different but the Field's Special is a repeat favorite. I still remember the first time being shocked at the size and composition of this unusual meal! I remember when we had to write down our own order years ago, on the paper provided at the table and I think with a pencil.
Maya had her "Snowman Ice Cream" for dessert, too - another tradition. Then we shopped for Christmas ornaments. Maya has quite a collection now.
Then Wayne, Maya and I went to Janet Will's house for her New Year's Eve party. We enjoyed delicious party food and played some fun games. The crowd called it a night early though, and we got home in time to ring in the midnight new year at home. Maya played her new Wii game, The Voice.
